US
The International Alliance for Integration and Sustainability (IAIS) is a Malta-based non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing social inclusion, multicultural understanding, and sustainable development around the world. We bring together a growing network of NGOs across Europe, Asia, and Africa to collaborate on projects, training, and networking opportunities that address complex societal challenges such as racism, migrant integration, youth empowerment, poverty, and climate action.
Since our informal beginnings in 2017, we have strengthened partnerships and secured funding for impactful initiatives, including several supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. Our work focuses on fostering cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence, developing methods for conflict management and dialogue, and championing key areas of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — from quality education and reduced inequalities to decent work, climate action, and strong institutions.
Driven by cooperation and shared learning, IAIS strives to empower communities, build resilience, and contribute to lasting social and environmental progress.

Mission
IAIS exists to promote integration, sustainability and social inclusion through practical projects, non-formal education and international cooperation. We work with young people, migrants, civil society organisations and local communities to create learning opportunities, strengthen participation and support people to become more active in society. Our work focuses on areas where inclusion and sustainability meet: youth empowerment, migrant integration, intercultural dialogue, democratic participation, employability, social entrepreneurship, climate awareness and community development. Through Erasmus+, EU-funded initiatives and local partnerships, we turn ideas into projects that create meaningful learning and social impact.
Vision
Our vision is a more inclusive, sustainable and connected society where people from different backgrounds can participate fully, access opportunities and contribute to positive change in their communities.
We believe that integration is not only about adapting to a new place. It is also about belonging, participation, mutual understanding and shared responsibility. We also believe that sustainability must include people, communities and social justice, not only the environment.
History
IAIS began informally in 2017 as a group of individuals who wanted to do meaningful work to include migrant in their community, promote environmental and sustainability awareness, and create intercultural opportunities across borders. What started as a small initiative gradually developed into an organisation focused on integration, sustainability, democracy, youth participation and international cooperation. In 2018, IAIS registered with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and obtained its Participant Identification Code, allowing the organisation to participate in European funding programmes. This opened the door to wider cooperation with partners in Malta and abroad. On 26 July 2019, IAIS was officially registered as a voluntary organisation in Malta under VO/1684. Since then, the organisation has continued to grow through Erasmus+ projects, youth exchanges, training courses, EU-funded initiatives, community activities and international partnerships with civil society organisations across Europe and beyond. Today, IAIS works with a growing network of partners across Europe, Asia and Africa.
Our projects bring people together to learn, exchange experiences, build skills and address shared challenges such as racism, exclusion, migrant integration, youth participation, poverty, employability, democracy, peace and climate action. From our beginnings as a youth-led initiative, IAIS has developed into a civil society organisation with a clear purpose: to create practical spaces for learning, cooperation and inclusion.
