Equity Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) as a CSR: Navigating Future-Ready Workspaces with DDAL Toolkit

“Equity Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) as a CSR: Navigating Future-Ready Workspaces with DDAL Toolkit” is an Erasmus+ adult education project focused on integrating equity, diversity, and inclusion into corporate social responsibility and workplace practices. Through research, collaboration, and practical learning, the project aims to develop the DDAL Toolkit, providing organisations with practical resources to create more inclusive, equitable, and future-ready workplaces.

“Equity Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) as a CSR: Navigating Future-Ready Workspaces with DDAL Toolkit” is an Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnership in Adult Education coordinated by the International Alliance for Integration and Sustainability (IAIS) in Malta, in partnership with organisations from Portugal and Croatia. The project explores how equity, diversity, and inclusion can be integrated into corporate social responsibility strategies and everyday workplace practices.

The project recognises that modern organisations operate within increasingly diverse societies and that creating equitable and inclusive workplaces is essential for sustainable organisational development. It aims to support organisations in understanding the challenges and opportunities associated with EDI while encouraging them to move beyond awareness towards practical and measurable action.

A central component of the project is the development of the DDAL Toolkit, a practical resource designed to help organisations assess their current approaches to equity, diversity, and inclusion and identify ways to strengthen EDI within their corporate social responsibility strategies. The project involves research and consultation with organisations across different sectors to ensure that the toolkit reflects real workplace needs and challenges.

Through collaboration between partners in Malta, Croatia, and Portugal, the project brings together different perspectives and experiences relating to inclusive organisational practices. Research activities examine current practices, barriers, and challenges in embedding EDI within CSR strategies, while stakeholder engagement helps shape practical and adaptable resources for organisations.

The project targets a wide range of stakeholders, including SMEs and enterprises, NGOs, government and local authorities, adult education and vocational training institutions, as well as professionals working in CSR, human resources, and EDI. By involving these groups, the project seeks to ensure that its outcomes can be relevant and useful across different organisational environments.

The DDAL Toolkit is intended to provide organisations with accessible approaches and practical guidance for strengthening inclusive workplace cultures. It supports organisations in considering how diversity and inclusion can be connected to wider organisational responsibility, sustainability, employee wellbeing, and long-term development.

Ultimately, “EDI as a CSR” aims to contribute to more equitable and inclusive workplaces by giving organisations the knowledge, tools, and practical resources needed to embed EDI into their organisational strategies. Through international cooperation, research, adult learning, and knowledge sharing, the project promotes a future-ready approach to workplace diversity and inclusion.
