Perspective Beyond Borders

“Perspective Beyond Borders” is a two-stage Erasmus+ training course for youth workers from 10 European countries and neighboring regions. The project promotes intercultural understanding, diversity, inclusion, and peaceful conflict transformation through experiential and non-formal learning. Participants develop practical skills in communication, intercultural dialogue, conflict management, and working with refugees, migrants, and vulnerable groups, empowering them to create positive change in their local communities.

“Perspective Beyond Borders” is a two-stage Erasmus+ training course designed to support the personal and professional development of youth workers from different European countries and neighboring regions. The project explores how cultural backgrounds, personal experiences, values, and perspectives influence the way people communicate, understand one another, and respond to differences.

The first stage, held in Bakuriani, Georgia, focuses on personal development, diversity appreciation, intercultural and inter-religious understanding, communication, empathy, and conflict transformation. Through experiential learning, outdoor activities, reflection, teamwork, and intercultural exchange, participants are encouraged to explore their own perspectives while developing a deeper appreciation for the experiences and viewpoints of others.

The second stage, held in Marsaxlokk, Malta, builds on the learning and experiences gained during the first stage. Participants develop practical youth work skills and explore methods for designing and facilitating workshops for refugees, migrants, minorities, and other vulnerable groups. The training addresses topics such as group dynamics, non-violent communication, conflict management, inclusion, and combating hate speech and discrimination.

Throughout both stages, the project uses non-formal and experiential education methods, including workshops, role-playing, simulations, group discussions, outdoor activities, and peer learning. These approaches enable participants to learn through direct experience, reflection, and practical application.

By combining personal growth with professional development, “Perspective Beyond Borders” aims to empower youth workers to become stronger facilitators of intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and peaceful cooperation. The knowledge, skills, and methods gained through the project can be transferred to participants' organizations and local communities, contributing to more inclusive, diverse, and connected societies.
