Conflict Resolution Through Storytelling

The first stage of the “Conflict Resolution Through Storytelling” training course officially kicked off today in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project brought together participants from 10 countries: Malta, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Spain, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Armenia, Bulgaria, and Serbia. The international group provides a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, perspectives, and ideas from different cultural backgrounds.

The training is being hosted by our active partner, BRAVO – Bosnian Representative Association for Valuable Opportunities, whose support is helping make this international learning experience possible.

This marks the beginning of an engaging journey focused on using storytelling as a tool for communication, understanding, and conflict resolution.

The first day of the “Conflict Resolution Through Storytelling” training course has successfully come to an end.

Participants from 10 countries around the world came together for an engaging first day filled with introductions, teamwork, and team-building activities. These activities helped participants get to know one another, build connections, and create a positive environment for collaboration.

The group then explored the concept of storytelling, working together to understand what storytelling means, the different types of storytelling, and the benefits it can offer in communication and conflict resolution.

This was only the beginning of the training. Stay tuned for more experiences, activities, and stories from the days ahead!

2nd Day

On the second day of the training course, participants had the opportunity to share their personal stories, allowing everyone to express themselves and leave a unique impression through their own experiences and perspectives.

The group then explored the key elements of storytelling, discussing different techniques, approaches, and methods used to effectively communicate a story and engage an audience.

The day concluded with practical activities focused on developing and practicing narrative skills, giving participants the chance to apply what they had learned throughout the sessions

3rd Day

The third day of the training course consisted of exploring Bosnian nature and culture.

4th Day

On the fourth day of the training course, participants explored the well-known story of Abigail. The activity encouraged them to look beyond the narrative itself and examine the different perspectives and decisions made by the characters.

Participants analyzed the characters, their choices, and the consequences of their decisions, while also identifying and discussing the key elements that make up an effective story.

Following the discussion, participants worked in groups to select stories that demonstrated the essential elements of storytelling. They then presented their chosen stories to the group, putting their storytelling and presentation skills into practice.

5th Day

On the fifth day of the training course, the participants told their stories, but this time using the different types of narratives they learned about in the previous days.

6th Day

The sixth day of the training course has successfully come to an end.

Following a team-building activity, participants worked together in groups to create original stories with meaningful lessons or messages that they wanted others to learn and remember. This activity encouraged creativity, collaboration, and the ability to communicate important ideas through storytelling.

To make the activity more engaging and interactive, each group presented their story in a creative format, either as a short skit or a video. Through these performances, participants were able to apply their storytelling skills while exploring different ways of delivering meaningful messages to an audience.
