The Hate Antidote (Countering Radicalisation and Hate Speech)
Day 1 of Antidote to Hate: Countering Radicalisation & Hate Speech in Zakopane, Poland.
We are currently in the beautiful city of Zakopane, Poland, surrounded by participants from Malta, Serbia, Egypt, Palestine, Slovakia, Ukraine, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, and Poland.
Everyone is excited to be part of the project and eager to explore new experiences and opportunities. During the first day, participants took part in various activities designed to help everyone get acquainted, communicate, and begin building connections. The interactive activities and energizers served as effective icebreakers, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere while helping participants feel more comfortable with one another.
The project was also introduced through a creative and engaging activity, allowing participants to become familiar with the main topic and objectives from the very beginning. It was a great start to the project and the beginning of many new shared experiences and memories.
Dissemination of our partners from Egypt (Maat for Peace) for our recently concluded Project - Antidote to Hate: Countering Radicalisation & Hate Speech
Maat Addresses Hate Speech and Extremism in Poland
Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights participated in a youth program in Poland focused on addressing hate speech and preventing extremism. The program brought together 30 young men and women from 11 Arab and European countries, including Egypt, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Greece, Jordan, Palestine, Ukraine, Serbia, Azerbaijan, and Malta.
The program aimed to strengthen the role of civil society organizations in preventing extremism by promoting tolerance, encouraging intercultural dialogue, and addressing different forms of hate speech.
As part of the initiative, representatives from Maat actively participated in a series of interactive workshops that explored practical approaches and mechanisms for preventing and responding to hate speech. The discussions emphasized the importance of tolerance, mutual understanding, and cooperation in building more inclusive and peaceful communities.
