Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming our project partners from Czech Republic, Armenia, Georgia, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Greece, and Poland for the first day of our project, “Waging the War Against Violent Extremism.” We are delighted to have everyone here in Malta!

The project focuses on identifying vulnerable groups who may be targeted for radicalisation and understanding the extremist ideologies that can influence them within our respective countries. Through collaboration, discussion, and knowledge-sharing, participants will explore the challenges surrounding radicalisation and violent extremism and work toward developing greater awareness and effective approaches to prevention.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the International Alliance for Integration and Sustainability (IAIS) for the invitation to participate in the training course “Waging the War Against Violent Extremism,” held from March 24 to April 1 in Qawra, Malta. The project brought together participants from several European countries, creating an opportunity for meaningful international cooperation and exchange.

Together with participants from Armenia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Malta, Ukraine, and Serbia, we explored a range of important and sensitive topics through non-formal education methods, including:

  • Violent extremism, radicalisation, and polarisation

  • Integration of cultural minorities into society

  • Raising awareness of diversity and multiculturalism

  • Promoting intercultural and interfaith dialogue

  • Developing interventions and conflict-management approaches through non-violent communication

The training provided participants with an opportunity to exchange perspectives, strengthen their understanding of radicalisation and extremism, and explore peaceful and inclusive approaches to addressing social challenges.

The project was co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
